The expansive decks of the lodge create a visual connection between you and the wilderness at all times. The surrounding waterways are a magnet for wildlife and your Botswana safari at Selinda Camp caters for this advantage. The flood plains are wide in this particular area and you will see plenty of game on bush walks and game drives. Birdlife is also very good this close to the water.
Selinda is known for its Lions which have developed the ability to take down Hippo – a very powerful, aggressive and deceptively quick animal – this is a difficult choice of prey in or out of the water. Other predators in this area include Cheetah, Wild Dog and Leopard. Plains game (mostly antelope species) is abundant and you could also see Buffalo and Elephant on game drives.
Your Selinda guides with tell you about the mysterious river and its unique pattern of ebb and flow on safari activities, but in between outings you can have a massage and relax in your spacious suite (with its signature stone bath) or around the main lodge. There is a small pool, gift shop, wine cellar and gallery to enjoy. Evenings are spent around a central campfire with sundowners, and fine dining takes place on the ‘star deck’.
