Built in one of the most beautiful corners of the Okavango, Xigera Camp is situated on 'Paradise Island' within the Moremi Game Reserve. This Botswana accommodation is situated on a large island with a 'tropical' and 'jungle' feel entrance by footbridge over river, with a permanently flowing river in front of the camp.
The dining room and pub are thatched, and there is a swimming pool, campfire area, and curio shop. Tents are connected to the main communal areas by wooden walkways. Meals are enjoyed in the dining room, which along with the pub and lounge area are all under thatch.
Lechwe, Sitatunga, Buffalo, Hippo, Lion, Tsessebe, Warthog, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Leopard, Elephant, Impala, Kudu, Bushbuck and Crocodile are the most frequently seen animals during game drives on this Botswana safari. Boating takes one further afield and into excellent fishing waters and the walks offer the opportunity to get close to wild Africa. The rare Sitatunga Antelope are at their highest density in the Xigera area.
Stalking Sitatunga silently by mokoro is an experience never to be forgotten. Besides the game, Xigera has excellent birding. Xigera is home to excellent birds such as Pel's Fishing Owl, Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret, Rufous-Bellied Heron, Swamp Boubou and many others. Great scenery and activities in a totally private setting make Xigera a wonderful area.

Zebras

Waterholes, in conjunction with favoured grazing areas, attract family groups which collectively congregate in large numbers. They are often seen in close association with Wildebeest, Antelope and Baboons.

The Okavango Delta, Botswana
|
Guests staying at this African safari lodge will be able to discover the scenic Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is an alluvial fan of sediment and debris, which filled a dip in the earth's crust between parallel faults across the Okavango River. This creates an ideal habitat for African wildlife.
